Friday 22nd July 2022 - Arrive at Scotland’s capital around 15:00 to your 5* hotel then ready yourselves for a money-can’t-buy black tie dinner as an invited guest at one of Scotland’s most iconic buildings. A real treat with champagne reception, 3-course dinner with wine and the most remarkable start to the tour.
Saturday 23rd July 2022 – Post (late) breakfast our guide will meet you at hotel reception and take you on a walking tour of Edinburgh pointing out the many historic buildings telling you of the part Edinburgh has played in Scotland’s heritage. Evening free to enjoy the many fine restaurants of Edinburgh.
Sunday 24th July 2022 – Leave Edinburgh for Fort William nestled below the UK’s highest mountain of Ben Nevis. We’ll check into the castle then return to Fort William for your steam-train journey from Fort William to Mallaig aboard the Jacobite Steam Train. Billed as the UK’s greatest rail journey, 84 miles of extremes passing Ben Nevis and over the now infamous Glenfinnan Viaduct. Keep your eyes peeled for flying Ford Anglia’s! Evening meal at the castle.
Monday 25th July – Departing Fort William and driving some of the best roads in the UK stopping at the most beautiful castle Scotland has to offer then to the fabulous Isle of Skye. Dunvegan Castle still houses the MacLeod chief so a stop there is a must then to our sensational 4* boutique hotel for a traditional Isle-of-Skye welcome.
Tuesday 26th July 2022 – After enjoying breakfast you can enjoy another full day of driving on the scenic roads over the remarkable Bealach na Ba road which rises from sea level to just over 2000 feet. 11 miles of incredible undulating roads and then a quick coffee stop before our short journey around by the Torridon hotel for our overnight stay at this sensational traditional 5* Hotel. (A whisky lover’s bar awaits)
Wednesday 27th July 2022 – Today’s drive will be the longest, but the most scenic. Enjoying wonderful views of the Atlantic and North Sea as you navigate the most northern-west part of the NC500 then along the northern tip of the mainland to Thurso. Leave in ample time to stop at the many beautiful scenes around the route, you will be impressed. 4* deluxe hotel awaits with AA Rosette dinner.
Thursday 28th July 2022 – John O Groats is a mere 20 minutes away, we have to go and get a shot by “The Sign” then down the east coast stopping at Dunrobin Castle then lunch at the state-of-the-art Macallan distillery for a tour, lunch and whisky tasting session.
Friday 29th July 2022 – After the whisky tasting today’s drive will be a little later and reasonably short to the world class Gleneagles Hotel. 5* indulgence awaits with the most wonderful facilities and that famous golf course. Evening meal at Andrew Fairlie’s 2 Michelin Starred restaurant is a must.
Saturday 30th July 2022 – Your day to golf, clay pigeon shoot, quad-bike ride or have a long relaxing spa treatment, the choice is yours. For those wishing to see even more of Scotland, Stirling Castle and The Wallace Monument (and Kelpies & Falkirk Wheel) are a short drive from Gleneagles.
Sunday 31st of July – What better way to round off the weekend than with a fantastic motorsports fix. The British Touring Cars are on their annual visit to Knockhill and we’ll be there as a guest of one of the leading teams. Breakfast, VIP marquee, lunch, drinks, tea, coffee as well as driver appearances, grid walks and even a garage visit to get a close up of these machines. (Return transport included)
